Hello! My name is Abby Brecher and I’m the new Pediatric Dentist at ProHEALTH Dental in Long Island City. My approach to pediatric dentistry is a preventive one; I believe in the importance of education in establishing good oral health and value my responsibility of providing caretakers with the proper tools to allow and reinforce healthy oral and dietary habits in their children.
There’s no denying the impact of oral health on overall well-being. After all, the mouth is where nutrients enter our bodies. Positive childhood experiences with the dentist are essential in laying a long-term foundation for future oral and consequently, overall health. Therefore, my ambition as a pediatric dentist is two-fold: to provide quality dental care, while building trusting relationships with my young patients.
The AAPD recommends that children visit the dentist on their first birthday. Early dental visits provide a unique opportunity for me to educate parents and provide as much information as possible with regard to their children’s oral health. Check out our blog articles on Pediatric Dentists: Why Your Children Need Us and Should Cavities in Baby Teeth be Filled? — I’m sure you will find them very informative!
I feel fortunate to be a part of ProHEALTH Dental, which, in affiliation with Mount Sinai Health System, has enabled me to provide high-quality oral care and education within a healthcare system that encourages a collaborative approach to overall health. Don’t forget – Children should get a check-up and cleaning every 6 months – make an appointment today.
I look forward to meeting you and your children soon. Please be sure to join us for LIC Family Fun Day on Sunday, February 11th. It will be lots of fun for everyone!
